Terms and Conditions

These terms govern the use of Zanza — the playzanza.com site and the app at app.playzanza.com. By creating an account and using the service, you accept what is written here.

What Zanza is

Zanza is a predictions game between friends: you create or join a private group, record predictions on matches and races, and a leaderboard shows who is getting it right. An automated pundit comments on the round.

The service is free. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no prizes.

Not gambling, not betting

Zanza is not gambling, sports betting or any other form of regulated gaming. No money is staked, no money is won, there are no prizes of value, there are no odds and no payment of any kind is involved. Simple Smooth Safe LDA Unipessoal is not a gaming operator and Zanza is not licensed by the Portuguese gaming regulator — because that is not what it does.

If the members of a group agree among themselves to bet money on the outcome of the leaderboard, that happens outside Zanza, without our knowledge, and under the sole responsibility of whoever does it.

Your account

• To play you need an account, with a valid email address and a display name.
• You must be at least 16 years old.
• You are responsible for your password and for everything that happens on your account. Tell us as soon as you suspect someone else has access.
• One account per person. Do not use anyone else's account and do not share yours.

Rules of use

In using Zanza, you agree not to:

• use the service for unlawful purposes or in breach of Portuguese law;
• write unlawful, offensive, discriminatory or harassing content — display name and support messages included;
• attempt to get around prediction lock times or to manipulate scores and standings;
• access other users' data or attempt to bypass the service's visibility rules;
• overload the service, automate access to it or extract data in bulk;
• use Zanza's brand, design or code without written permission.

The AI pundit

The pundit's write-ups are generated automatically by a language model, from predictions and standings. They are humour, not journalism: they can be wrong, overblown or simply unfunny. They are not the company's opinion, nor a statement of fact about anyone.

The tone is the same for everybody. Even so, if a write-up goes too far, report it through the form inside the app or by email — we will look at it and take it down.

Content and ownership

Zanza, its brand, code, design and service copy are the property of Simple Smooth Safe LDA Unipessoal.

The predictions and messages you write remain yours. By using them in the service, you allow us to show them to the other members of your league, to score them for the standings and to include them when the pundit's write-ups are generated — only so that Zanza works, and nothing else.

Results, fixtures, team names and crests come from external sources and belong to their respective owners.

Availability and limitation of liability

The service is provided as is, free of charge and with no guarantee of availability. We may change, suspend or discontinue features.

Match results are imported automatically from external sources and can arrive wrong or late. We correct them as soon as we notice, but we are not liable for standings affected by third-party data.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of data or loss of profit arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or affects the rights the law gives consumers.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, giving notice whenever possible.

You can stop using Zanza whenever you like and ask for your account to be deleted by writing to info@simplesmoothsafe.com. If you own a league, it has to be archived or handed to another member before the account can be deleted.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date shown above. If a change is material, we announce it inside the app. Continuing to use Zanza after that means you accept it.

Governing law and jurisdiction

Portuguese law applies. The courts of the district of Sintra, Portugal, have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to a consumer's right to bring proceedings in the courts of their own domicile and to use alternative consumer dispute resolution bodies.
